BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I
Section 1. The association existing under these by-laws is to be known as the Florida Swamp Rangers Association, Crestview, Florida.
Section 2. The objectives of this association are set forth in the constitution of the Florida Swamp Rangers Association
ARTICLE II
Section 1. The government and management of this association are entrusted to its officers.
Section 2. Any officer desiring to resign from their office shall notify their fellow officers in writing with enough time to find a replacement.
ARTICLE III
Section 1. Duties of the President: It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meeting of the association and to have general supervision over the business affairs of the association. The President has the power to make decisions on activities and events that are in the best interest of the association with out a vote.
Section 2. Duties of the Vice-President: The Vice-President shall assume and discharge the duties of the President in the absence of the President or when called upon by the President.
Section 3. Duties of the Secretary: The Secretary shall keep all records of proceedings, write letters and maintain a record of correspondence as directed by the President.
Section 4. Duties of the Treasurer: The Treasurer shall keep a full record of all finances, render financial statements, reconcile band records, write checks as required and report to the president. Either the President or Treasurer may sign checks.
Section 5. The above mentioned officers are responsible for the appointment of association members to special offices (i.e. chaplain special projects etc.)
ARTICLE IV
All proceedings of this organization shall be conducted in accordance with Robert’s Rule of Order, Revised.
ARTICLE V
This association requires no dues. Donations and fund raising events are the way this association makes money. This money shall be spent on Swamp Ranger’s and the soldiers and families of The 6th Ranger Training Battalion. If for any reason, this association is dissolved any money in the Swamp Ranger checking or savings account with The 1st National Bank & Trust of Okaloosa county will be given to the FRG of the 6th Ranger Training Battalion.
ARTICLE VI
The by-laws may be amended at any time at any regular association meeting by a vote of two-thirds of the members present. Written notice shall be given to all members at least (30) days in advance of the date an amendment is to be voted on. An electronic e-mail may be used in stead of written text. An e-mail vote requires two thirds majority of those members that reply, to pass.
ARTICLE VII
This association will collect and disperse funds for special events and activities as required and voted on by the members. The President may spend up to $400.00 dollars on a worthy cause without a vote.
